Fellow challenger Arthur W. Barlow has officially dropped out of the race to unseat Rep. Rosita Youngblood.
Now, a highly improbable thing has happened: Byron Davis will go head-to-head with entrenched incumbent Youngblood!
The Davis campaign team wishes Mr. Barlow well and has made several attempts to reach out to him before this recent news, and we hope that he will join our coalition for change among like minded servant leaders who can oust Youngblood from office in order to “make a change to make a difference!”
Our campaign has also had fruitful conversations with former Youngblood challengers, some of whom were in attendance at Byron’s successful candidacy announcement event where UNION HERE union head, Lynne Fox formally endorsed Byron.
It is worth noting that had Youngblood been in a head-to-head race during the last presidential election season in 2004, her slim 561-votes win might have dissolved into defeat. One can never know. And hindsight is 20/20.
But the choice presented to voters is clear: a vote for change or a vote for more of the same. And if “more of the same” includes a downward quality of life in your neighborhood, we humbly ask you to let Byron earn your vote.
Team Davis is even more confident — now that it’s a two-person race — that victory will be ours, namely, the people of the 198th district . . . finally!
Can we really pull this off on April 22nd? Yes, we can!
